Christopher Lee Helton

Christopher Lee Helton was headed down the wrong path, when at 16, he was given a camera by his mother. Instantly, it focused him and he began his career shooting local bands and the world of Rock ‘n Roll. A musician himself, it was a natural fit.

After moving from a town outside Indianapolis to Orlando, Florida, he then became obsessed with training in the art of Kung Fu. Soon, he was assigned to be a bodyguard and work security for all the huge rock bands traveling through Florida. When the promoter of The Who and The Rolling Stones saw his photographic work in the early ’80s, he made some calls and Helton began shooting for all the major music magazines of the day.

His work has appeared in The New York Times, Rolling Stone Magazine, and in numerous posters and books, and has been syndicated all over the world from Japan to South America.   He has shot Keith Richards,  The Who, Motley Crew, Def Leppard, The Clash, Deep Purple, Bon Jovi, Ozzy Ozbourne, Van Halen,  Bruce Springsteen and many others. His favorite photo is of Steven Tyler
